Be Spontaneous

Make it a ritual to do something out of the ordinary every once in a while. As we get older we tend to become stuck in a daily cycle of routine and rote. There's nothing wrong with this per se. A sense of stability can help us feel grounded, but it needs to be balanced out with spontaneity whenever possible. So instead of sitting in front of the tube on a Friday night watching TGIF, (does anyone even watch this stuff anymore?) have a picnic in your backyard, go for a walk in the park, or fill your tank up with $20 worth of gas and take a road trip. You don't have to bungy jump or climb Mount Everest to be spontaneous. It's the simple stuff that counts. Whatever you decide, just do it. Don't think about it. Don't talk about it. Just do it. Afterall, that's what being spontaneous is all about.
